Everything's out! Well, almost. All except for the pink tub and yes, that is also coming out!! It's cast iron so we need a little help getting it out of there.
So, now that the bathroom is gone and we have to take a mile hike to the basement every time we need to use the restroom I really need to get this one put back together! Here's a look at my design plans for the bathroom.
I'm going for a classic look with white subway tile on the walls and a Carrera marble floor in a herringbone pattern. I'm also hoping to install a floor to ceiling mirror on the wall to the right as you walk into the bathroom. You can see an example of this in the bottom right picture. This is will really help to expand the space and also be really functional. I'm also pricing out a custom vanity in the Christopher Peacock style shown above. I'm thinking of painting the small amount of sheetrock that will be left above the sink and around the door opening in a black shade to give the room some drama and contrast. We'll also be installing radiant heat in the floor to keep the marble nice and toasty!
And in other news.......
the nursery is starting to come together! I finished painting the dresser (Just need to add the hardware) and the rug I ordered from Turkey came in.
We also installed our new doors throughout the main level of the house. You can see two of them here. They haven't been painted yet but my painter is coming soon to finish those. You can also see a tiny bit of the blue ceiling in the nursery. It's pretty light and I actually could have gone a little darker with it but typically when you paint ceilings it's better to go lighter since paint always appears darker on them. This room is so bright though that the color turned out pretty pale.
I'm hoping to get the drapes finished for the nursery today and get them hung!
